Trim Work

In a lot of ways interior styles have gone back to simpler designs. Baseboards and casings are thick but more straightforward involving simple bevels and rounded edges. Today complimentary colors on trims can carry from room to room. Some people still enjoy the look of real wood doors and trim while others keep the wood look on the floors and cupboards while leaving the rest in a solid color format. Popular solid color trims are made from MDF, finger joint pine and poplar. Stained and varnished trims are most popular in oak, pine and maple while specialty woods such as cherry and walnut are available also and are coveted for their darker shades and special grains. Simple shaker styles are very popular with interior doors and panels. In traditional century homes, we still replicate colonial designs and doors to fit into the overall style. On more than one occasion we have custom built bookshelves, cabinets and closet organizers. These are built into nooks and crannies making good use of irregular shaped rooms creating much need storage space.
